There were two points of interest during our time in Truckee (well actually 3 but I wasn't involved in one), a custom-built log cabin where the pre-party and private lessons were held at, and a 4-storied mansion on the mountain-side near Donner Pass Ski Resort.
I'm not sure how Billy Bob of Mountain salsa Dance pulled it off, but we were given the great pleasure of staying at Dr. Jeff Camp's mansion. Every two of us basically had a room/floor to stay on.
I had a room to myself and I almost didn't get it had I not been fast enough to make a dive into the couch that Lili was about to sit down and claim ownership of!
There were a total of 5 rooms that we stayed in, excluding the two bedrooms that Dr. Jeff and his room mate were staying in. 4 of of those rooms/floors had a view of the sunrise and mountainside of the Donner Ski area.
But that wasn't the only special treatment we received from Dr. Camp. In addition to the after-party drinking sessions we had on Friday and Saturday night, Dr. Camp made us orange mousse and pizza Saturday night!
Dr. Jeff wasn't the only person that gave us that warm hospitality. The pre-party was held at Astrid's house, a two-storied custom-designed log cabin up from historic Truckee. Astrid and her husband had some great food for all of us: BBQed steak, sausages, and chicken, fresh salad, cheese and bread, and so much more!
Astrid's built-in sound system provided the salsa music to dance to for the remaining of the night. We mingled and danced with one another until 1:00am.
